All rubber outsoles with tread designs offer slip resistance by channeling water, oil, and other slippery substances away from the outsoles tread pattern to create superior grip. While there are no government regulations currently creating slip resistant standards, many safety directors are now requiring that industrial footwear meet certain standards of slip resistance in order to increase safety and reduce “slip and trip” accidents in the workplace.

Our unique Skidbuster interlock sole has a tread design which dramatically increases the slip resistancy factor in wet workplace conditions, whether from oil, water, or other slick materials and surfaces. Our Skidbuster products, when tested at an independent testing laboratory, produce a slip resistance with ratings that exceed 0.77 when tested on dry and wet surfaces on the Mark II Testing Machines. On an oily/wet surface, the rating for all our Skidbuster soles is 0.40. U.S. Footwear sources cite “slip and trip” accidents in the hospitality industry as the #1 workplace accident. According to U.S. Footwear sources, a hospitality slip resistant rating of 0.50 on dry/wet surfaces or 0.25 on surfaces contaminated with oily/wet substances, would be considered slip resistance.
